ABSTRACT

Project change management (PCM) is a part of project management activities. There are a number of project-specific "jobs" necessarily created as another dimension by adding PCM to a project plan. The change facilitator plays a critical role in innovative change management (ICM) activities. It is the individual who leads and directs the ICM activities for a project. At some point during most projects, the project manager will be required to perform each of these roles: change agent, change facilitator and sustaining sponsor. The change facilitator must have the training and experience to understand PCM concepts and apply them to the specific project. The change facilitator should be one of the first members of the project team to be identified, as he or she will play an important role in helping the project manager select project team members who can embrace key change concepts. The people who make up a project are a key PCM consideration.
