ABSTRACT

Projects can be managed skillfully or haphazardly. The following is a list of the innovative change management (ICM) life-cycle phases: Clarify, Announce, Diagnose, Plan, Implementation, Monitor, and Final Evaluation. Some of the more commonly used project management tools and techniques (as recommended by the Project Management Institute [PMI] and others) are listed. The degree of ICM effort is greatly based on the maturity level of the project management team. Mature project management team members already have a degree of ICM built into their DNA. The project management life cycle is divided into six phases. Selection (project business case), Initiation (develop charter and have a project manager assign), Planning (requirements, scope, work breakdown structure), Execution (design, development, and schedule), Control (reviews and metrics), and Closure (administrative and contractual to marry).
