ABSTRACT

Most major cultural change initiatives (innovative change management [ICM]) are a combination of culture change management (CCM) and project change management (PCM). PCM ensures that the individual projects are in line with the desired cultural change, and CCM drives a change transformation across the organization that is in line with the organization's mission, goals, and objectives. The executive management team should appoint a group of highly creative individuals who represent a cross section of the organization to develop and assist in the implementation of a CCM initiative. Management is responsible for determining how the resources within the organization will be utilized. Getting a proper picture of the AS/IS situation is absolutely critical to make meaningful decisions. Five types of assessments should be made at this point in the process. The five types of assessments are: Innovation maturity analysis, Change history analysis, Employee opinion survey, Customer focus groups, and Is/should be analysis.
