ABSTRACT
An annotation is a description of the purpose and significance of a source. More importantly, an annotated bibliography helps the student identify the thesis and the significance of research material. The assignment benefits students by helping them develop prewriting skills. In responding to proposals, instructors can provide feedback prior to the student’s full investment in the project. Importantly, instructors may prevent students from taking on projects that are too broad, difficult, or not compliant with the course assignment. A research proposal is a synopsis of the main elements of a research paper or project. The structure and length of a research proposal varies with the research question and design. A research proposal should be no shorter than two typed double-spaced pages and no longer than five typed, double-spaced pages. A MEMCON includes information about the people, time, and preparer of the document. Mutual agreement on the content establishes the legitimacy of the MEMCON as a historical record of the event.
