ABSTRACT

White-collar workers, or educated labour power, are prepared for working in qualified, high-paying jobs that require intellectual effort, with job security in good conditions. White-collar, middle-class workers have gained privilege by using their level of education, as part of the developing needs of capital during long years of capitalism. But with huge changes in labour markets under neoliberalism, white-collar workers have lost their privilege and in some cases started to revolt, seeking new conditions. This chapter will illuminate the change in working conditions for white-collar workers and question their new starting point of struggle, together with all those others oppressed by capitalism.
