ABSTRACT
Mathematicians at Greenwich have been pioneers of scientific computing since the foundation of the Royal Observatory in 1675. In this book we explore how Greenwich has hosted fundamental and influential investigations in the mathematical sciences from the late seventeenth century to the present day. While numerical mathematics plays the leading part, pioneering pure mathematicians worked at the Royal Naval College, and many Greenwich mathematicians made contributions to mathematics education and public engagement.
