ABSTRACT

This Chapter introduces the project of understanding Curriculum Studies as an international conversation sketching the main insights informing that proposal in theoretical and methodological terms. The concept of internationalization is put into perspective from outsides of the Anglo-Saxon context in which the field of curriculum studies was born. Therefore, internationalization is thought as a dimension of the files which has faced at least three waves of internationalization. Then, the chapter goes onto addressing the idea of curriculum as currere delineating a variant of the regressive-progressive-analytical-synthetical method currere tying each of these four moments of currere to a specific decade in author’s life and the field’s history, both in the United States and Latin America. I have also explained some choices I made regarding the way to address my study whose written form I present here.
