ABSTRACT

Lanthanides-based luminescence thermometry is a versatile technique operating in a wide range of the optical spectrum from UV to the IR and with a large number of parameters to be exploited, such as intensity ratios, peak shift, lifetime, polarization, etc. In fact, the temperature reading in intra-cell or in sub-micro systems was only possible using a luminescence nanothermometer. Furthermore, other fields like microelectronics, microfluidics, micro-optics, etc. can use of this approach.
