ABSTRACT

The Conclusion looks at research on future trends of leadership. Research from Forbes, for example, shows that 13 out of their top-14 points for leadership in future, include some form of paying attention to staff development, well-being and continuous education. We return to our early idea of leadership and its metaphor of play, and specifically for leadership as a dance: the leaders and the led need to be in step in order for the magic to occur. For that to happen the leaders especially need to understand where the led, the followers, are coming from. In other words, where from in terms of their motivators. As the twenty-first century gets more deeply underway, the importance of understanding employee motivators simply cannot be underestimated or ignored.
