ABSTRACT

This chapter will focus on current ways that administrators, faculty, and staff in higher education are working to create inclusive and equitable spaces for LGBTQIA+ students within curricular and co-curricular spaces. These strategies include establishing groundwork within classroom or discussion settings to give space to marginalized individuals, providing content warnings, interrupting microaggressions and other biased behaviors, and creating LGBTQIA+-inclusive courses. Though this chapter focuses primarily on higher education, many of these strategies are directly applicable to those working in government and non-profit sectors, as well.
