ABSTRACT
This essay explores ground’s connections to analyticity. The logical empiricists (and many later philosophers influenced by them) have claimed that some statements are analytic: true by virtue of the meanings of their constituent words. Donaldson revisits this long-standing debate, using the theory of ground.
