ABSTRACT

Current interest in ecological monitoring is revealing many instances where the data which are gathered can be interpreted and used by diverse disciplines.

The concept of the natural nidality of transmissible disease was proposed by Pavlovsky in 1939. This Russian academician, however, was concerned with those diseases which occur naturally in wildlife populations and are transmitted to man, by way of arthropod vectors, when he enters the territory shared by the reservoir host species and the vector.
