ABSTRACT

This chapter looks at contemporary implications of considering the literal dead. Induced after-death communication (IADC) by way of eye-movement desensitisation reprocessing (EMDR) has been shown to have resulted in unintentional sightings of the dead with curative effect, in particular with sufferers of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). In addition, the work of Roger Brooke with war veterans has by chance resulted in visions of the dead returning during therapeutic encounters for deeply healing purposes.
