ABSTRACT

Chapter 2 moves onto the business of planning lessons on an everyday basis. I explain the method of planning that I use, which is based on the Teacher Enhancement Effectiveness Programme and features a six-part learning cycle that can be spread over a sequence of lessons to maximise student progress and join up the learning. I work through different methods of differentiating at this point, including an explanation of top-down planning, suggestions for preparing in advance for collaborative learning and ideas for supporting weaker students.
