ABSTRACT
Reconciling the 250 people who are born every minute with the finite resources of the planet will require enormous efforts of innovation. The massive changes in population growth, urban density, and socio-economic conditions will be just as big an innovation challenge as the looming lack of raw materials or climate chaos. Business leaders often have a sense of urgency, and want the world to move faster to achieve the scale and speed of change they know is needed to address global problems like climate change, resource scarcity, and social dynamism. Climate change is clearly one of the biggest innovative challenges. As climate change becomes more real and apparent to consumers and business leaders, there will be unlimited opportunities to offer solutions that accelerate the evolution to low carbon ecosystems in energy, transportation, and agriculture. Open-minded leaders who can listen to their employees and learn from them will be better able to adapt their companies to the challenge of social dynamism.
