ABSTRACT

Disseminating scientific and practical knowledge is consistent with Lewin’s duality of Interventionist Research (IVR) output. This chapter develops thoughtful and meaningful publications is important for accounting IVR relevance, and selects a high-quality journal is paramount to further IVR’s legitimacy. It identifies critical stakeholders, especially non-academics, that readers research will impact through dissemination requires careful consideration. A common error in developing research projects is not devoting enough time to planning for IVR dissemination. IVR dissemination is a complex process and is hard work for several reasons. An IVR project can be a lengthy process to complete from inception, and dissemination invariably will occur at the end of (or sometimes, but rarely, during) the IVR project. The chapter highly recommends that all IVR includes all three forms of dissemination, and that dissemination reaches beyond just the printed word via presentations and workshops for accounting professionals.
