ABSTRACT

John Swihart is a world renowned composer known for his work on such films as Napoleon Dynamite, Youth in Revolt, and Employee of the Month. John also composed the music for hit television shows such as How I Met Your Mother, Men at Work, and Web Therapy. Swihart got his start in music at the age of eight when he discovered the saxophone. After high school, Swihart was accepted into the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts where he furthered his musical education. After college, Swihart auditioned and was selected to play zither, chapman stick, bass, and guitar with the Blue Man Group in Boston, New York, and Las Vegas. Soon after departing from the Blue Man Group band, John Moved to Los Angeles where he began scoring independent films before making a name for himself with the hugely successful Napoleon Dynamite.
