ABSTRACT
This chapter explores stage of life issues that commonly impact couples as they approach middle and late adulthood. Specifically, the chapter discusses issues that affect sandwich couples and spousal death and bereavement along with the various related DSM-5 disorders that often accompany these challenging life transitions. Case study illustrations are utilized to serve as a model for case conceptualization and assessment (i.e., including instrumentation), and treatment recommendations are provided
