ABSTRACT
Chapter Five provides a thematic review of the major events examined and offers conclusions to the principal issues discussed. There is a synthesis of the research questions posed in the opening chapter, summarizing how both sides learned much during the campaign and adapted their organizations to suit their own particular requirements. It also compares the relevance of historiographical comments in relation to conclusions in the book.
