ABSTRACT

Successful multicultural engagement involves the acceptance of errors and miscommunication in the mutual engagement with one another, which is more of a mindset issue than anything else. Consequently, effective multidisciplinary engagement also involves time and space for frequent exchanges of ideas across team members, especially when key design decisions are being made. Especially in the area of immersive or highly interactive digital learning systems, design decisions around the digital delivery platforms and interfaces that learners and instructors engage with is critical for the acceptance of these systems in practice. Applications of automated scoring for educational purposes have traditionally been associated with large-scale assessments, which are designed to be relatively broad snapshots of a learner’s competencies through one-time administrations of test forms. In learning and assessment systems, the collection, analysis, and interpretation of process data captured in log files plays a critical role.
