ABSTRACT
As part of Microsoft Office implementations in the Department of Defense and Intelligence Community computers, Microsoft Access gives users an all-in-one software platform for use in developing small, simple databases and applications. Users can design and implement tables, write queries to view and update data, and use wizards to create Windows-based interfaces with Forms and Reports. It is particularly useful when doing a rapid prototype of a new database application, allowing users to visually see the results of a new system.
Using the data model developed in Chapter 3, the current chapter shows in detail how to use Microsoft Access to
Import data into tables
Use the query wizard to view and filter selected columns of tables
Write update queries
Use queries as filters for Windows-based Forms to view or update tables
Use Reports to create Windows-based displays of queries
Incorporate links to tables running in another relational database management system system
