ABSTRACT
It has long been recognized that young children’s learning is greatly enhanced when strong and effective partnerships are developed between practitioners, families, and communities. How we engage with our local families and communities has a significant impact on children, as well as on our own professional practices. By drawing on community knowledge and expertise, we are better able to understand children and their families and provide more meaningful learning experiences.
