ABSTRACT
This chapter introduces and describes the main features of the Italian and English university mobilizations of the years 2008–2011. While the first three sections illustrate the timelines and characteristics of the protest campaigns of the Italian students and researchers in 2008 and 2010, the following three sections feature the timelines and characteristics of English students and temporary academics in 2010 and 2011. The last and concluding section of the chapter offers a summary of these mobilizations and their characteristics.
