ABSTRACT

The author argues that Xi Jinping carries on the diplomatic legacy of Deng Xiaoping and drives it a higher level, making an upgraded version of China’s diplomacy of Deng’s period. During Xi’s time, China as an emerging big power started to develop its global vision. At the same time, stronger is the call for more China’s voices in the world. As such, China raised several diplomatic concepts including a new model of major country relationship, new order in East Asia, The Belt and Road Initiative, and a human community with shared destiny. More importantly, China’s international considerations should be coherent with domestic situation.
