ABSTRACT
This chapter explores the emergence and structural forms of words. Such fundamental issues concerning words as the ways through which conditions and the base form for words coming into being are discussed. It also illustrates word coinage and word formation, word structure and lexical morphology, as well as logical foundation of word coinage and word structure. In the last section of this chapter, inflectional morphology in Chinese is investigated.
