ABSTRACT
This chapter discusses the different delivery mechanisms that the UK uses in its anti-corruption programming, comparing their strengths and weaknesses. It looks at number of different types of organisations that international development agencies enter into partnerships with. The partners delivering programmes on anti-corruption or parts thereof will be a significant determinant of the success of the programmes. The chapter also discusses two approaches to combining the benefits of bilateral and multilateral aid delivery channels – multi-bi – and forming 'coalitions of the committed' based on inter-state partnerships on issues of strategic priority. It also examines the bilateral spending that is not directed via multilateral agencies. The chapter looks at the Official Development Assistance spent on tackling corruption by the different Her Majesty’s Government departments and agencies. It considers the extent to which international law and policies advantage states at different stages of development, states of different sizes and those states that came out victors of certain conflicts.
