ABSTRACT

This chapter describes the key areas of what is needed in a report and where help to make report writing automated can be found. The report should be a concise communication on how the organisation creates value in the short, medium and long term. The 'Report' phase is a very distinct phase in the reporting cycle typically taking three or four months from starting to write the narrative to getting it Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) checked, if an organisation chooses this route. The 'Report' phase will also include publication for various media, and launch and preparedness for feedback. The statement should relate to the main report. It should promote balance and may consider an impact/s where performance has not been so good and actions to improve that have already taken place. The purpose of the GRI checking service is to check whether a report is in accordance with their sustainability reporting guidelines.
