ABSTRACT

Navigating system change feels the same at times, working with the grain, pushing points that matter. There is no Holy Grail or silver bullet to determine what will shift a system. At the heart of living systems lies novelty and the feedback processes that enable to adapt. Without this learning there is no life. A lot of innovation is driving the growth in material consumer goods, requiring the use of more and more resources. Cultivating system change is knowing how to push people that little bit further without losing them along the way. Learning is not just the immediate summary of activity but an enduring process that has to have structure and a rhythm of activity. People think learning has to be strenuous. One of the challenges with playing between the lines of the current and new is finding the resources and space to create change.
