ABSTRACT
This chapter aims to reconfirm the business advantages of (SMEs) reporting and focuses on some SMEs business leaders who confirm that transparency is better business. Some SMEs transition well from micro- to small- to medium-sized businesses and eventually manage to become large corporations. SMEs will find themselves having to operate in a sustainable manner and disclose key performance data required by large companies for their own reporting. Customers, employees, local community networks and others can all play a role in affecting the business performance of an SME. By adopting a sustainability approach, SMEs can ensure they are ahead of the game and keep adapting their business to the evolving needs of all their stakeholders. Unequivocally, SME reporting was confirmed to bring business benefits in different ways and with regards to different stakeholder groups. SME reporters also have made use of known and leading practice frameworks – the United Nations Global Compact Ten Principles or the global reporting initiative reporting framework.
