ABSTRACT

Business for Social Responsibility (BSR) works with its global network of nearly 300 member companies to build a just and sustainable world. BSR shows companies how to create opportunities from global challenges, derive value from sustainability, and maintain competitive advantage while benefiting the world. BSR started to develop a few targeted programs to help companies manage corporate responsibility issues along their global supply chains. BSR offers an extensive range of operational and strategy services to help companies embed responsible business practices. BSR's "local presence" approach to building its global operations is based on a combination of local offices and on-the-ground consulting and partnership projects. BSR has been very effective in spreading best practice and thought leadership through a combination of its annual conference, its partnership networks and its growing social media presence. BSR's increasingly global focus and issue and industry specific activities have meant a continuing process of up-skilling the organization's staff.
