ABSTRACT
Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP) is committed to poverty reduction by promoting business sector leadership in, and commitment to programs that lead to self-reliance. It implements development projects on behalf of the private sector, and promotes the practice of corporate citizenship as a model for poverty reduction. In 2012, PBSP launched a platform of collective effort among the corporate sector, government and other investors and stakeholders as an innovative business solution to eradicate poverty in the country. Education has become an increasingly strategic focus for PBSP and it is working with the government and a number of civil-society organizations to improve the country's under-performing education system. PBSP also manages significant global health funds through its health programs. PBSP's Livelihood and Enterprise Development Program aims to generate gainful employment and income opportunities for men and women. PBSP delivers business development services particularly in the areas of market facilitation, business advisory and agricultural technology development.
