ABSTRACT
When I was starting out on my business career over 20 years ago, one of the management ‘gurus’ who most inspired me was Charles Handy. In fact, when I was studying for my Bachelor of Business Science degree at the University of Cape Town, I remember photocopying and devouring his entire Gods of Management book and being fascinated by others, such as The Age of Unreason, Waiting for the Mountain to Move and The Empty Raincoat.
