ABSTRACT

This introduction presents an overview of the key concepts discussed in the subsequent chapters of this book. The book addresses the intersection of entrepreneurship, innovation and sustainability. It highlights the role of organisational innovation beyond the role and relevance of product, process and service innovation. The book focuses on the automotive industry as a prime example of a mature industry in need of improvements in terms of innovativeness and sustainability potential. It also focuses on this industry by looking at the role of new environmentally sustainable innovation policies for shifts in the innovation focus of the automotive industry. The book analyses the corporate social responsibility relationships between large retailers and small and medium-sized food suppliers in Italy. It also analyses the demand and sectoral characteristics interactions in the cosmetics sector in Greece and the formation of an eco-cosmetics segment using a case study example of eco-entrepreneurial activities based on the ability to adapt to public demand for ecological products.
