ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses eight stories from people who have taken leadership for sustainability in mainstream organisations, six in the business sector and two in local government. The first story is Chris Preist, which is catalysing a strategic approach to sustainability in a major IT company. The second story is Christel Scholten that focuses on being a change agent for sustainability. The third story Helen Goulden which Imbuing work with ecological values. The fourth story is Helena Kettleborough that is thinking out of the box: introducing action research into neighbourhood practice in the north-west of England. The fifth story is James Barlow which is about Choose life. The sixth story is Karen Karp which explores the leadership for change in USA public food procurement: people, products and policy. The seventh story is Mark Gater which is about two worlds. The final story is Prishani Satyapal which is putting the learning into practice.
