Companies that partner with retailers can strengthen vendor relations and secure increased merchandising support for their brands in weekly circulars and newspaper ads, enhanced in-store signage, couponing, and sampling. Relying on secure jobs, they have a direct stake in their company’s success. Slowly but surely, children become empowered to act on environmental issues through their own purchasing and consumption habits, suggesting a key opportunity to shape their consciousness while their sustainability-related values are forming. Children and young adults are important industry stakeholders because of their own buying power and their ability to influence the purchases of their family – especially when they are ardent about: the environment. Supply educators with fact-based teaching materials and curriculum. Teachers and administrators are willing partners when they sense an opportunity to impart legitimate information that educates students – and helps to extend tight budgets.
