ABSTRACT
In response to anticipated criticism that they were being too pessimistic, the authors tested more optimistic assumptions in the model. For example, they assumed a doubling of resources, effective recycling (75% of all resources), a doubling of agricultural yield per hectare, nuclear energy to meet all energy requirements, effective pollution control and perfect birth control.
