ABSTRACT
Grontmij is a consultancy and engineering firm operating in the international market and employing around 3,300 people in the Netherlands. Operating in the building, infrastructure and environment sectors, it specialises in consultancy, design, engineering, management and turnkey project delivery. This chapter describes the results of the NIDO/Grontmij research study conducted within Grontmij, focusing on diversity. An important feature of Grontmij's service provision is its often intense collaboration with other organisations. The chapter considers the research question: under what conditions can co-operation be realised in the light of sustainability? It concludes with a comment on the system levels on which the analyses are based and to which sustainability is also related. Grontmij aims to actively promote sustainability to its customers and clients.
