ABSTRACT

Companies that seek major change in any aspect of their business often start with a noble vision, generally based on a founder’s or key decision-maker’s philosophy. This vision is often followed by some action or achievement of a few significant outcomes, which may or may not be linked to a longer-term set of measurable objectives. Unless effective change-management principles are put into place to push companies beyond these initial steps, activities that require major change frequently fizzle out. This should be of noteworthy concern to those companies pursuing sustainability.
