ABSTRACT

The role-play 'NordWestPower' is a behaviour-oriented role-play developed by teachers from the Department of Economics and Law at the University of Oldenburg. The best approach to training managers in these skills is to use experiential study pedagogies. These include role-plays and active learning methods, which enable experimental and playful learning. The creation of a sustainable energy supply is one of the key pillars needed for a sustainable economy. Within the range of the energy industry, the connections between economic, ecological and social issues can be studied intensely. The whole group has to co-ordinate these parts in order to develop a self-contained draft strategy which is supported by each participant. This element of the role-play aims especially at dealing with conflict situations. Role-plays are an innovative didactic teaching instrument for different reasons. From the view of the students, the relevance of instructional contents becomes clearer in a role-play.
