ABSTRACT
There is no doubt that human activities affect the environment. The current status of global resources of raw materials and fossil energy carriers indicates that we have to treat these resources sensibly. This means that losses and waste have to be reduced or even prevented, emissions and pollution have to be avoided and the consumption of raw materials and fossil energy carriers has to be decreased.
