Assessment of environmental impacts: A case study of an integrated approach at the plant level

Technological progress in the industrialised countries and the ever more stringent environmental requirements of these countries have emphasised the need for integrated management of the environmental impacts caused by industrial plants. This is also the aim of the Directive on Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control (IPPC; 96/61/EC) of the European Union (EO).
