ABSTRACT

Responsible innovation means a more voluntary orientation towards the great problems of the 21st century: the planet, rising inequalities, new scientific development potentially threatening freedom, democracy and human integrity. Innovation and creativity are essential to the dynamism of an economy. Faced with the growth of emerging countries, the competitiveness of developed countries mainly depends on innovation. Entrepreneurship, creativity and innovation are necessary answers to the challenges of our time. As for the current excesses of a market economy led by instrumental logic, the enterprise, rather than contributing to the problem, may become the solution. Social entrepreneurship has grown in recent years, with or without the help of commercial businesses. This represents new types of entrepreneur and innovation, and the movement aims to put the qualities of the entrepreneur (vision, appetite for risk and the ability to convince) at the service of priority social causes.
