ABSTRACT

Many MBAs who are successful at landing the corporate social responsibility or sustainability position of their dreams commit 100% to the sustainability job search. They know what they want to do, and spend all their time and energy going after it. That does not mean blind optimism. They develop a realistic understanding of what kinds of roles exist, and how they can add value to the organization and the field of sustainability. Many career services offices will tell MBA students to pursue simultaneous job searches, interviewing for traditional MBA jobs on campus while also applying for sustainability roles. They might argue that there are not enough sustainability-focused jobs, or that you may be disappointed with the salaries or won't find a sustainability position at all.
