ABSTRACT

SKF is a Swedish ball-bearing manufacturer founded in 1907. The company supplies products, solutions and services within rolling bearings, seals, mechatronics, services and lubrication systems to customers around the world. The focus of SKF's technology development is on reducing the environmental impact of an asset during its life-cycle, in both the company's own operations and those of its customers. There are three business units within SKF: Regional Sales and Services (RSS), Strategic Industries and Automotive. SKF China believes that managing sustainability in the demand chain is just as important as managing quality or cost. SKF's supplier development practices have two distinct features: supplier quality development and supplier sustainability development. Going beyond audit and shifting the focus to supplier compliance, SKF China also started working closely with suppliers to provide innovative products and services to its customers. The SKF logistics service mainly serves the company's internal customers, SKF plants and sales companies.
