ABSTRACT

Ainy is both a young and an old company; young, because it launched the brand in 2009, and old, because it was conceived after a long development process. In 2008, although there was still a long way to go in product development, this chapter made a presentation at the most important International Cosmetic Fair in France, and received the jury's special award. For the first time in France and Europe, people discovered at least one way to develop cosmetic emulsions (mix of oils and water) without heating the ingredients. The chapter develops many relationships with the Achuar community. The Achuar community lives in the jungle of Ecuador and Peru. Also in Peru, the company developed many relationships with Quechuan healers and shamans from the Cusco region. Only top brands own their labs. Most other brands subcontract product development, and focus all their efforts on marketing and communication.
