ABSTRACT
Juana and her 5-year old son have been living with seven members of their extended family in her mother’s house since she broke up with the child’s father. Left to care for her child alone and without having completed secondary school, her hopes for her own income and a better quality of life, in particular her own home, were low. For the last year, she has been taking part in Holcim’s S4L project, she has learned how to produce wall panels, supports the project construction team on site, has an income and will be a proud owner of a one-bedroom house in the near future.
