ABSTRACT

The European Union is in the midst of a total reassessment of immigration and asylum policies. The United States is a prime example of tensions, where both immigration and domestic circumstances are forcing a demographic revolution in a country where non-white “minorities” are quickly becoming the majority. Israel and Jewish communities around the world have successfully implemented integration and can share their expertise with other countries struggling with similar situations. The Jewish Community of New Zealand has also been working against prejudice. The Jewish organizations, while looking out for the Jewish interest, considered affiliation and cooperation with the wider organizations as important to their work. The international community seems unaware of the Jewish and Israeli contribution to the world effort to solve refugee problems. For instance the “Women’s Commission for Refugee Women and Children” sent a fact-finding mission to Bosnia and published a report in which they enumerated the work of the organizations cooperating in the field.
