ABSTRACT

The (one, my, our) "people" is, since it is arbitrarily definable, ideally suited to justifying every imaginable form of concrete rule. The (one, my, our) "people" is clear in only two respects:

— The "people" is the historical (and current) antithesis to the single closed, alternative ideology of justification of rule God's grace in all its variations from the monarchy to religious or secondarily religious fundamentalism.
