ABSTRACT

In Miami, Florida, site of the largest overseas colony of Cuban exiles, many optimistic Cubans were figuratively packing their bags for a return to their homeland. But Castro and his cohorts hung on, and three years later they were still in absolute control of the island. This chapter discusses Cuba’s current domestic situation and its relations with the two countries whose foreign policies have the greatest impact on it, Russia and the United States. And tomorrow? Set forth are possible scenarios for the future.
