ABSTRACT

Patient reports with considerable emotion conflicts and anxieties associated with his growing awareness of the separate identities of his son, his brother, and himself and listens carefully to therapist’s extensive discussion about patient’s conflicts in relation to his brother, and his anxiety about becoming an individual on his own and a father to his children. Patient also reports anxieties about his promotion following a change in the administration and is given reassurances by therapist. There is some exploration of patient’s inner conflict connected with his fellow workers and his superiors, in order to ascertain whether or not his previous self-defeating tendencies are operating.
